Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website: what it collects, what happens to it, and who to ask about it.

It does not cover your dental record. That is health information, it is governed by Alberta's

Health Information Act, and it is described separately on

What this website collects

One thing: the appointment request form. If you fill it in, we receive the answers you typed.

Whether you are a new patient, an existing patient, or booking for a family
Your name
Your phone number
The date you would prefer
The dentist you would prefer, if you have one

That is the whole list. We ask for a phone number rather than an email address because we ring

you back to arrange the appointment.

What this website deliberately does not collect

The form does not ask what your appointment is about, and there is no free-text box.

That is on purpose. Naming a treatment beside your name and phone number would create a record of

your health, and this website is not the right place to hold one. If something is bothering you,

tell us on the phone or at the appointment.

Please do not send medical details through this website.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This website uses the Meta pixel, from Facebook and Instagram's parent company. It is there for

one reason: the practice advertises on those platforms, and without it there is no way to tell

which adverts actually bring somebody in rather than simply get clicked.

What it records: that a browser opened a page here, which page it was, and whether somebody

tapped a phone number to call us. It sets a cookie so Meta can recognise the same browser again.

What it does not record: your name, your phone number, anything you type into the form, and

anything about your treatment. Nothing you send the practice is passed to Meta or to any other

advertising platform.

Because it records which page was opened, and some of our pages are about particular treatments,

Meta can see that a browser looked at a page on a subject. If you would rather that did not

happen, browsers offer tracking protection and Meta offers its own controls over off-platform

activity at facebook.com/off_facebook_activity.

This website also uses Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag, from Google. Analytics counts

visits and which pages were opened, so the practice can see how people find it; the Ads tag tells

Google which adverts led to a visit or a phone call. Both set cookies. We have switched off

Google's advertising personalisation and its cross-device "signals" for this website, so your

visit here is not used to choose which adverts you see elsewhere. Google offers an opt-out for

Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The map on our contact page is served by Google Maps. Opening that page loads it from Google,

which may set its own cookies; Google's privacy policy covers it.

When you arrive from one of our adverts, this website remembers which advert it was (a click

reference and the campaign's name, not who you are) on your own device for up to 90 days. If you

then send an appointment request, that reference goes with it, so the practice can tell which

adverts actually bring patients in. It is never sent to Google or Meta with anything you type.

Apart from the Meta pixel, these two Google tags and that map, this website runs no other

analytics, no session recording, and loads no fonts or images from anybody else's servers.

What happens to a form submission

It is sent to the practice so somebody can ring you back. It is not stored on this website, and

this website keeps no database of enquiries.

Once the practice receives it, it becomes part of how the practice keeps its records, and it is

handled under the Health Information Act like anything else it holds about you.

Links to other websites

Some pages link elsewhere, for example to our reviews on Google or to Alberta's dental plan

information. Once you follow one of those links you are on somebody else's website, under their

We do not ask children for information through this website. A parent or guardian requests an

appointment on a child's behalf, and the form asks the same five things whoever it is for.

Asking about your information

Anyone at our front desk can help with a privacy question.

You can call the practice on 780-434-8749 with any question about your information, including

asking to see what we hold about you or asking us to correct it.

Changes to this policy

If what the website collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes

too. We will not quietly widen what we collect and leave this page describing the old version.
