What it costs, and how insurance works here

It depends on what you need, and we will not guess before we have looked. We can go over quotes with you before any work is done. We will make every attempt to work with your insurer so your plan covers as much as it can. What a plan finally pays is the insurer's decision, not ours. We offer in-house payment arrangements to long-time patients. Orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign, is financed over the course of treatment.

Yes, we direct bill and work with many insurance companies, so in most cases there is nothing for you to claim back yourself. We are happy to send your insurer a predetermination before treatment. For a breakdown of your plan, please contact your insurance provider: under privacy law they cannot share your plan details with us directly.

Yes. Heritage Dental Centre is a registered CDCP provider, so if you are covered by the plan you can be seen here.

You are still welcome, and the process is the same. We go over the cost with you before any work is done. Tell us at the consultation and we will talk through what is urgent and what can wait.

Insurance companies only pay up to their own internal fee guides, which are often lower than the Alberta fee guide. We are very conservative in what we bill: we only do what is necessary, which often means fewer visits and a lower overall bill. Our focus is on prevention.

Most secondary insurance policies will not pay the full difference, because the primary insurance has already paid what the secondary would have paid. Some insurers also use their own fee guides, which are not up to date with the current Alberta fee guide.
